Safety and experience
Your baby is precious and nothing is more important than their safety and comfort.
I will never tightly swaddle or restrict your baby’s movement and I do not place them in any unnatural or awkward poses.
Your session is completely baby-led so we will take breaks for feeding, changing and cuddles whenever your baby needs them.
As well as being an experienced professional photographer, DBS checked and fully insured, I am also a Mum.
When to book newborn photography in Teesside
Most families book at scan stage to ensure their due date is available with their chosen photographer.
I recommend booking early to secure your baby’s session.
When families book with me, we pencil their session for approx two weeks after their due date.
Baby’s arrival is always unpredictable so I leave plenty of room in my diary.
I work with a small number of families each week so I can always accommodate my clients if timings need to change.
Photography sessions for older newborns and babies in Teesside
For sleepy, curled up newborn portraits it is best to book in advance and arrange your session for baby’s first 7 -14 days.
If your baby has already been born and you are just starting to look for a photographer, please don’t worry, you have not missed your chance.
I also work with babies beyond the newborn stage and love to capture their alertness, bright eyes and emerging expressions.

My maternity & newborn package
I designed this option for families who would like to remember their journey from the very beginning. Your bump is so quickly forgotten after baby arrives!
This package brings both sessions together into one experience. You’ll view both sets of photographs together in one private gallery after your newborn session.
Seeing both sets of images together is something many families find genuinely moving.
Your maternity session is also a lovely opportunity for you to meet me, and for me to find out more about your family, before the newborn session.
What happens during your newborn photography session
We keep in touch all the way through to the day of your shoot and I’ll be there to help with any advice you might need.
When I arrive I take some time to meet with you and settle in. I bring everything I need with me to create a mini studio in your home.
Because your session is relaxed and baby-led we will take lots of breaks for cuddles and feeding.
My sessions are flexible and if we need more time, that’s no problem at all.
During the session I will take lots of natural photographs of baby both asleep and awake as well as all their tiny details including little hands and feet.
I love to capture moments of you together as a family and with any older children.
The benefits of an at-home newborn session
My at-home newborn sessions have become so popular with my families because they allow you to feel completely relaxed with everything you need for baby to hand.
I bring everything I need with me including lights, soft beanbag and fresh blankets for baby.
All I need to capture natural photographs of you with your baby is soft window light. There’s no need to worry about tidying up, a few clear areas are more than enough.
At home sessions are wonderful for siblings because they can play or have a snack in between photographs.
Your family photographs are so beautiful and meaningful when captured in your home.
Viewing your newborn or baby photographs
After your session I will edit and gently enhance your photographs.
I will then create a private online gallery with the best images from your session.
Your gallery can be viewed in the comfort of your home where you will choose your included digital images to download.
You will have the opportunity to order additional images or upgrade to include the complete gallery for £145.
A beautiful selection of professional quality prints and products are available to order with delivery to your door.
I bring samples with me to your session so you can try them out in your home.
You are welcome to share your gallery with family and friends.

When my son was born I remember just gazing at him and trying to take in all the tiny details.
