I’m Jen Hart, the photographer behind Fable & Kin.
I totally understand how overwhelming it could feel when you start to look for a photographer.
There’s a lot to consider and it’s not all about pricing and packages; it’s about finding a style you love and someone you feel comfortable working with.
I feel very lucky to have my skills as a photographer because they have allowed me to capture my own family in beautiful pictures.
This is what I now love to do for the families I work with: make a lasting record of each new chapter.
I have designed all my sessions to be relaxed, calm and enjoyable for your whole family.

A bit about me…
I live with my family in Nunthorpe, Teesside. I’m a Mum to a 7 year old so I’m pretty good at building Lego and can identify all four Ninja Turtles.
When I’m not behind the camera I love to read (mostly fiction), be outside, do puzzles and collect old cameras.
In 2024 I celebrated 15 years in business as ‘Jen Hart – Photographer’ at my studio in Stockton.
This was also the year I took the leap and retrained as a primary school teacher – a career that had always been in my mind.
Introducing Fable & Kin
I missed my creative work and my clients so much that in 2026 I am returning to photography.
It’s time to build something new with a name that reflects what my work is all about.

I’ve been a full time professional photographer for over 15 years but I’ve been taking pictures much longer than that – here’s an old photo of my Mum giving me a photography lesson aged five.
Over the years I’ve photographed hundreds of weddings and thousands of family moments.
I’ve run a busy photography studio and travelled to work with clients across the UK.
Today, my focus is on newborn and young baby photography, though I am here to capture the full story for my families: from relaxed maternity photographs to outdoor family sessions as your children grow.
